National Toddler Month

It seems there is a day to celebrate everything...
There is National Weatherperson's Day (I learned that from my husband who is a meteorologist)...

National Ice Cream Sandwich Day (my personal favorite)...

National Talk Like A Pirate Day (which I fully intend to celebrate this year, so you may not want to call me on September 19)...

But did you know toddlers have an entire month?? Not just one special day, dedicated to them... an entire month!

If you ask any parent of a two-year-old I bet they would tell you every month is toddlers' month, but apparently, that isn't the case... only August is National Toddler Month. Now, it isn't an official holiday, but I figured I would dedicate one blog this month to those tiny tots who climb on everything, fall off of everything, throw tantrums about everything and bring tons of joy to their parents and all of us at Infant Crisis Services.

Every day our playroom is full of toddlers. Their imaginations are truly remarkable to watch.  Our playroom was designed to motivate toddlers to be creative. I can't tell you how many little girls have presented me with a pretend gourmet dish they cooked up in our play kitchen. I love watching their faces light up when I gobble it down and ask for seconds.

So this month, and every other one on the calendar, take time to play with a toddler and join in their imaginative processes. It will help you learn about their thoughts and feelings, and I guarantee you, both of you will have a blast!
